Investing in Youth, Changing Lives
The Rotary Club of Joliet and the Boys & Girls Club of Joliet share a common mission: creating opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. For many years, Rotary has proudly supported the Boys & Girls Club through financial investments, facility improvements, and community partnerships that help provide safe, welcoming spaces for local youth.
Through Rotary's annual raffle proceeds and charitable giving initiatives, the Club has invested in projects that directly enhance the experiences of the hundreds of children and teens who rely on the Boys & Girls Club each year. These investments ensure that young people have access to quality programs, recreational opportunities, and supportive environments where they can thrive.
Supporting a Community Resource
One of Rotary's most significant recent investments has been its support of the Boys & Girls Club's swimming pool facilities. In 2021, Rotary provided $25,000 to help restore the pool and expand opportunities for youth swim lessons and water safety programming.
Building on that commitment, the Rotary Club of Joliet's 2025 Annual Cash Raffle raised $65,700, including a $40,000 grant to help repair and rebuild the deteriorating exterior wall of the Club's Olympic-sized pool. The renovation improved safety, restored natural light, enhanced energy efficiency, and created a more welcoming environment for the more than 250 young people who utilize the facility.
Rotary's support has also extended beyond the pool. Previous investments included $14,664 for staircase improvements in 2017 and funding for a new gym floor in 2010, helping ensure that the Club's facilities remain safe, functional, and inspiring for youth and families.
Creating Safe Spaces for Success
The Boys & Girls Club provides much more than after-school activities. It offers a place where young people can build confidence, develop leadership skills, form positive relationships, and access programs that support academic achievement and personal growth.
Rotary's investments help ensure that these spaces remain available to the children and families who depend on them. By helping maintain and improve facilities, Rotary supports an environment where youth feel safe, valued, and empowered to succeed.
